Yes, at some point I knew already that one can find audiobooks on Spotify, but it obviously has slipped my mind and I simply haven’t had it on the radar anymore. This post on Open Culture with Classics on Spotify sure brought it back to my attention[^-361149665]. It is a very good list, but at the moment I’m only interested into a few of them[^-361149665]. The list though got me searching for other audiobooks on Spotify and after a little bit of further digging, I found some more, and at least to me, more interesting books.
Also I found a lot of material by H.P.Lovecraft.
I was surprised by the amount of works by H.P.Lovecraft and have to admit that I am not familiar with his work at all. This will probably change soon.
The experience is of course not quite the same as listening in a dedicated audiobook player, since important features like bookmarks are naturally missing, but that of course doesn’t matter much. I will continue to look for audiobooks on Spotify and maybe one day a Spotify for Audiobooks comes around. But until then, there is a lot to listen to.
The H.G.Wells and Dracula one though are intneresting. The latter one is read by Dracula, erm Christopher Lee, himself, which is of course nice. ↩
